Every experienced painter knows that there is a big difference between interior and interior painting. Each paint is formulated for a particular use and should be applied using a particular procedure. We will shortly explain what the difference is for each case.
Exterior paints are specially composed so that they can withstand severe weather conditions such as rain and sun. Interior paints do not need to face such harsh conditions. The compounds used in exterior paintings give them an excellent waterproofing capacity.
Exterior paints contain substances that protect the facades or other elements from fungi and insects. They have greater resistance to washing. They must have good adhesion on plaster, concrete, plaster, stone, wood and different porous surfaces. Exterior paint dries fast
Interior paints are specially designed to withstand the friction and wear that occur on the walls from being an area of considerable daily wear. Interior latex paint is recommended for all types of interior surfaces, plaster, exposed brick, plaster, wood and even metal. Its composition does not contain substances to withstand the sun or humidity.
Interior paints should be harmless for humans living inside the house. Some exterior paints contain chemicals that are nocive for your health and must be applied carefully to prevent health issues.
Before painting your house it is important to know these differences. It is possible to paint with exterior paint inside your house but only if their compounds are safe for your health and use the proper procedures. On the other hand it is not recommended to use interior paint on your facade or any exterior part of your house. Do not mix different paints, and always use the paint that corresponds to each space. If you have any questions about paintings you can send us an email and an advisor will contact you.
